Week 2: Conditionals

We heard some great conditional sentences on Thursday. Here's a brief grammar review. Please post the sentences you made, or new ones, in the "comments" section.

First Conditional:
If + present simple, modal + base verb
If I do my homework, I will/can/should improve. :)
If you don't keep up with market trends, you will/are going to/might fall behind.

Second Conditional:
If + past simple, modal + base verb
If investors weren't afraid, the market would be more stable.

Third Conditional:
If + past perfect, modal + present perfect
If fewer home buyers had signed sub-prime mortgages, not as many homes would have gone into foreclosure.

Mixed Conditional:
If the Federal Reserve had not cut interest rates, there would be less liquidity in the market.
